Endocet
( acetaminophen + oxycodone )
General Information and Indications:
This combination of drugs is used to relieve
moderate to moderately severe pain.
Information For Users:
Endocet, the combination of acetaminophen and
oxycodone, comes as a tablet, capsule, and liquid to take by mouth. It is
usually taken every 6 hours as needed. Follow the directions on your
prescription label, ask your doctor or pharmacist If you have any questions.
Take acetaminophen and oxycodone exactly as directed.
Oxycodone can be habit-forming. Do not take a larger dose, take it more
often, or for a longer period than your doctor tells you to.
Special
precautions:
o Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have
allergy to acetaminophen, codeine, oxycodone, sulfite, or any other
medications.
o Inform your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
medications you are taking, especially acetaminophen (Tylenol);
antidepressants; medications for cough; cold, or allergies; other pain
relievers; sedatives; sleeping pills; tranquilizers; and vitamins.
o inform your doctor if you are breast-feeding liver or kidney disease, a
history of alcoholism, lung or thyroid disease, prostatic hypertrophy, or
urinary retention.
o Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking acetaminophen and
oxycodone, call your doctor.
o if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, Inform your doctor or
dentist that you are taking acetaminophen and oxycodone.
o you should know that this drug may make you drowsy. Do not drive a car or
operate machinery until you know how this drug affects you.
o remember that alcohol can add to the drowsiness caused by this drug.
Possible Adverse
Effects:
Though adverse effects of acetaminophen and
oxycodone are not common, they could occur. Inform your doctor if any of the
following symptoms are severe or do not go away:
o dizziness
o lightheadedness
o drowsiness
o upset stomach
o vomiting
o constipation
o stomach pain
o rash
o difficulty in urination
If you experience either of the following symptoms, call your doctor without
delay:
o difficulty breathing
o mood changes
