Zantac

Indications:

Ranitidine,Zantac, is used to treat ulcers;
gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which backward flow
of acid from the stomach causes heartburn and injury of the food pipe
(esophagus); and conditions where the stomach produces too much acid, such
as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Over-the-counter ranitidine is used to
prevent and treat symptoms of heartburn associated with acid indigestion and
    sour stomach.

Usage:

Ranitidine,Zantac, comes as a tablet, an
effervescent tablet, effervescent granules, and a syrup to take by mouth. It
is usually taken once a day at bedtime or two to four times a day.
Over-the-counter ranitidine comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It is
usually taken once or twice a day. To prevent symptoms, it is taken 30-60
minutes before eating or drinking foods that cause heartburn. Follow the
directions on your prescription or the package label carefully, and ask Your
Health provider or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.
Take ranitidine exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take
it more often than prescribed by Your Health provider.

Dissolve ranitidine effervescent tablets and granules in a full glass (6-8
    ounces) of water before drinking.

Do not take over-the-counter ranitidine for longer than 2 weeks unless Your
Health provider tells you to. If symptoms of heartburn, acid indigestion, or
sour stomach last longer than 2 weeks, stop taking ranitidine and Inform
    Your Health provider.

special precautions:

Inform Your Health provider and pharmacist if
you are allergic to ranitidine or any other medications.
Inform Your Health provider and pharmacist what prescription and
nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal
products you are taking. Be sure to mention either of the following:
anticoagulants ('blood thinners') such as warfarin (Coumadin); and triazolam
(Halcion). Your Health provider may need to change the doses of your
medications or monitor you carefully for side effects.
Inform Your Health provider if you have or have ever had porphyria,
phenylketonuria, or kidney or liver disease.
Inform Your Health provider if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or
are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking ranitidine, Inform
    Your Health provider.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Unless Your Health provider tells you otherwise, continue your normal diet.

side effects:

Ranitidine may cause side effects.
Inform Your Health provider if any of the following symptoms are severe or
    long lasting:

headache
constipation
diarrhea

Indications:

Pravastatin,Lipitor, is used with diet changes
(restriction of cholesterol and fat intake) to reduce the amount of
cholesterol and certain fatty substances in the blood. Pravastatin is in a
class of medications called HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins). It works
by slowing the production of cholesterol in the body. Buildup of cholesterol
and fats along the walls of the blood vessels (a process known as
atherosclerosis) decreases blood flow and, therefore, the oxygen supply to
the heart, brain, and other parts of the body. Lowering blood levels of
cholesterol and fats may help to prevent heart disease, angina (chest pain),
    strokes, and heart attacks.

.Usage:

Pravastatin comes as a tablet to take by
mouth. It is usually taken once a day with or without food. To help you
remember to take pravastatin, take it around the same time every day. Follow
the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask Your Health
provider or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take
pravastatin exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it
more often than prescribed by Your Health provider.

special precautions:

Inform Your Health provider and pharmacist if you are
allergic to pravastatin or any other medications.
Inform Your Health provider and pharmacist what prescription and
nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal
products you are taking. Be sure to mention any of the following: cimetidine
    (Tagamet); erythromycin (E.E.S., E-Mycin, Erythrocin); ketoconazole (Nizoral);
medications that suppress the immune system such as cyclosporine (Neoral,
Sandimmune); other cholesterol-lowering medications such as fenofibrate (Tricor),
gemfibrozil (Lopid), and niacin (nicotinic acid, Niacor, Niaspan); and
spironolactone (Aldactone). Your Health provider may need to change the
doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for side effects.
if you are taking cholestyramine (Questran) or colestipol (Cholestid), take
them 4 hours before or 1 hour after pravastatin.
Inform Your Health provider if you drink large amounts of alcohol and if you
have or have ever had liver or kidney disease.
Inform Your Health provider if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or
are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking pravastatin, stop
taking pravastatin and Inform Your Health provider immediately. Pravastatin
    may harm the fetus.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or
dentist that you are taking pravastatin.
if you have a severe infection, surgery, an injury, low blood pressure, or
seizures while taking pravastatin, talk to Your Health provider about
stopping to take the medication for a while.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet. This kind of diet includes cottage
cheese, fat-free milk, fish (not canned in oil), vegetables, poultry, egg
whites, and polyunsaturated oils and margarines (corn, safflower, canola,
and soybean oils). Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat
(especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter,
shortening, lard, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate,
olives, potato chips, coconut, cheese (other than cottage cheese), coconut
oil, palm oil, and fried foods.

side effects:

Pravastatin may cause side effects.
Inform Your Health provider if either of these symptoms is severe or does
    not go away:

heartburn
headache
Some side effects can be serious. The following symptoms are uncommon, but
if you experience any of them, Inform Your Health provider immediately:

muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness
lack of energy
fever
yellowing of the skin or eyes

treat kidney disease caused by diabetes in patients with type 2 (formerly
'adult onset') diabetes and high blood pressure. Irbesartan is in a class of
medications called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works by blocking
the action of certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so blood
    flows more smoothly.

    Ventolin

Indications:

Albuterol,Ventolin, is used to prevent and treat
wheezing, shortness of breath, and troubled breathing caused by asthma,
chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung diseases. Albuterol inhalation
also is used to prevent breathing difficulties (bronchospasm) during
exercise. Albuterol is in a class of medications called beta-agonists. It
works by relaxing and opening air passages in the lungs, making it easier to
    breathe.

.Usage:

Albuterol comes as a tablet, extended-release
(long-acting) tablet, and a syrup to take by mouth and as an aerosol, a
solution (liquid), and a powder-filled capsule to inhale by mouth. The
solution is inhaled using a nebulizer, and the powder-filled capsules are
inhaled using a special dry powder inhaler. Albuterol tablets and syrup are
usually taken three or four times a day, and extended-release tablets are
usually taken twice a day. For the treatment or prevention of asthma
symptoms, the oral inhalation is usually used every 4 to 6 hours as needed.
For the prevention of bronchospasm during exercise, the oral inhalation is
used 15 minutes before exercise. The nebulized solution is used three or
    four times a day.

Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your
doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take
albuterol exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it
more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the extended-release tablets whole; do not split, chew, or crush
    them.

Albuterol controls symptoms of asthma and other lung diseases but
does not cure them. Do not stop taking albuterol without talking to your
    doctor.

Before you use the albuterol inhaler for the first time, read the written
instructions that come with it. Ask your doctor, pharmacist, or respiratory
therapist to show you how to use it. Practice using the inhaler while he or
    she watches.

Before using the aerosol inhaler for the first time and any time it has not
been used in more than 4 weeks, "test spray" the inhaler. Do this by
spraying 4 times into the air.

To use the aerosol inhaler, follow these steps:

Shake the inhaler well.
Remove the protective cap.
Exhale (breathe out) as completely as possible through your nose while
    keeping your mouth shut.
Open Mouth Technique: Open your mouth wide, and place the open end of the
mouthpiece about 1-2 inches from your mouth.Closed Mouth Technique: Place
the open end of the mouthpiece well into your mouth, past your front teeth.
Close your lips tightly around the mouthpiece.
Take a slow, deep breath through the mouthpiece and, at the same time, press
down on the container to spray the medication into your mouth. Be sure that
the mist goes into your throat and is not blocked by your teeth or tongue.
Adults giving the treatment to young children may hold the child's nose
closed to be sure that the medication goes into the child's throat.
Hold your breath for 5-10 seconds, remove the inhaler, and exhale slowly
through your nose or mouth. If you take two puffs, wait 2 minutes and shake
the inhaler well before taking the second puff.
Replace the protective cap on the inhaler.
After each treatment, rinse your mouth with water or mouthwash.
If you have difficulty getting the medication into your lungs, a spacer (a
special device that attaches to the inhaler) may help; ask your doctor,
pharmacist, or respiratory therapist for more information.

Use only the adapter that comes with your canister. Do not use the adapter
    with any other product canister.

To use the dry powder inhaler, follow these steps:

Remove the inhaler from its container and check to make sure it is clean and
dry. Make sure that there are no objects in the mouthpiece.
Keep the inhaler upright and hold the darker-colored end in one hand. Turn
the lighter-colored end as far as it can go in either direction.
Take a powder-filled capsule from its pack and place the clear (thinner) end
of the capsule in the raised hole in the lighter-colored end of the inhaler.
If there is a used capsule shell in the inhaler, it will be pushed into the
    chamber.
Push the new capsule in until it is even with the top of the hole in the
    inhaler.
Hold the inhaler level (horizontally) with the white dot uppermost, and turn
the lighter-colored end (where the capsule was put in) as far as it will go
in the opposite direction. This will open the capsule.
Keep the inhaler level. Breathe out as far as you comfortably can. Raise the
inhaler to your mouth and gently put the mouthpiece (darker-colored end)
between your teeth and lips. Do not push the inhaler further inside your
    mouth than your teeth.
Hold the dark blue part of the inhaler so you won't accidentally inhale the
    device.
Breathe in through your mouth as quickly and as deeply as you comfortably
    can.
Hold your breath for a short time, then remove the inhaler from your mouth
    and breathe out.
If your doctor has told you to inhale 2 capsules, repeat steps 2-9.
Other uses for this medicine
Inhaled albuterol also is used sometimes to treat or improve muscle
paralysis in patients with a condition that causes occasional paralysis and
to treat high potassium levels in patients with kidney failure. Talk to your
doctor about the possible risks of using this medication for your condition.

special precautions:

Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are
allergic to albuterol or any other medications.
Inform your doctor and pharmacist what prescription medications, vitamins,
nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. Be sure to
mention any of the following: beta blockers such as atenolol (Tenormin),
labetalol (Normodyne), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), nadolol (Corgard),
and propranolol (Inderal); digoxin (Lanoxin); diuretics ('water pills'); and
other inhaled medications used to relax the air passages. Also Inform your
doctor or pharmacist if you are taking the following medications or who have
stopped taking them within the past two weeks: antidepressants such as
amitriptyline (Elavil), amoxapine (Asendin), clomipramine (Anafranil),

(Surmontil); and monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors, including phenelzine (Nardil)
and tranylcypromine (Parnate). Your doctor may need to change the doses of
your medications or monitor you carefully for side effects.
Inform your doctor and pharmacist what nonprescription medications you are
taking, including ephedrine, phenylephrine, phenylpropanolamine, and
pseudoephedrine. Many nonprescription products contain these medications
(e.g., diet pills and medications for colds and asthma), so check labels
carefully. Do not take any of these medications without talking to your
doctor (even if you never had a problem taking them before).
Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had an irregular heartbeat,
heart disease, high blood pressure, narrowing of the digestive tract (for
the extended-release product only), an overactive thyroid gland
    (hyperthyroidism), diabetes, or seizures.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking albuterol, Inform your
    doctor.

side effects:

Albuterol may cause side effects. Inform your
doctor if any of the following symptoms are severe or long lasting:
vomiting
stomach pain
muscle cramps
cough
dry mouth (inhalation only)
throat irritation (inhalation only)
Some side effects can be serious. The following symptoms are uncommon, but
if you experience any of them, Inform your doctor immediately:

    Norvasc

Indications:

Verapamil,Isoptin, is used to treat
irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias) and high blood pressure. It relaxes your
blood vessels so your heart does not have to pump as hard. It also increases
the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart to control chest pain (angina).
If taken regularly, verapamil controls chest pain, but it does not stop
chest pain once it starts. Your doctor may give you a different medication
to take when you have chest pain.

.Usage:

Verapamil,Isoptin, comes as a regular tablet and as an
extended-release (long-acting) tablet and capsule to take by mouth. The
regular tablet is usually taken three times a day. The extended-release
tablet and capsule are usually taken one or two times a day and should be
swallowed whole. Do not chew, divide, or crush the extended-release tablet
or capsule. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and
ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.
Take verapamil exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take
it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Verapamil controls arrhythmias, high blood pressure, and chest pain
(angina) but does not cure them. Continue to take verapamil even if you feel
well. Do not stop taking verapamil without talking to your doctor.

special precautions:

Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are
allergic to verapamil or any other drugs.
Inform your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
    medications you are taking, especially aspirin, carbamazepine (Tegretol);
cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune); fentanyl (Duragesic); heart and blood
pressure medications such as beta-blockers, digoxin (Lanoxin), disopyramide
(Norpace), flecainide (Tambocor), quinidine (Quinaglute, Quinidex),
    diuretics ('water pills'), or any other blood pressure lowering medication;
lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid); medications to treat depression; medications
to treat glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye); phenobarbital; rifampin (Rifadin,
    Rimactane); theophylline (Theo-Dur); and vitamins.
Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had heart, liver, or kidney
disease, muscular dystrophy, or gastrointestinal obstruction (strictures).
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking verapamil, Inform your
    doctor.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, Inform your doctor or
dentist that you are taking verapamil.
you should know that verapamil may increase the effects of alcohol and make
    them last longer.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Verapamil may cause an upset stomach. Take verapamil with food or milk.

side effects:

Although side effects from verapamil are
not common, they can occur. Inform your doctor if any of the following
symptoms are severe or long lasting:

constipation
dizziness or lightheadedness
headache
upset stomach
heartburn
excessive tiredness
flushing (feeling of warmth)
slow heartbeat
vivid, unusual dreams
If you experience any of the following symptoms, Inform your doctor
    immediately:

swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, arms, or legs
difficulty breathing or swallowing
fainting
rash
yellowing of the skin or eyes
fever
increase in frequency or severity of chest pain (angina)

NORVASC,Amlodipine,
is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood
pressure and chest pain (angina). Amlodipine is in a class of medications
called calcium channel blockers. It lowers blood pressure by relaxing the
blood vessels so the heart does not have to pump as hard. It controls chest
pain by increasing the supply of blood to the heart. If taken regularly,
amlodipine controls chest pain, but it does not stop chest pain once it
starts. Your doctor may prescribe a different medication to take when you
    have chest pain

Information For Users:

Amlodipine comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It
is usually taken once a day. To help you remember to take amlodipine, take

calcium carbonate or any other drugs.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
medications you are taking, especially digoxin (Lanoxin), etidronate (Didronel),
phenytoin (Dilantin), tetracycline (Sumycin), and vitamins. Do not take
calcium carbonate within 1–2 hours of taking other medicines. Calcium may
decrease the effectiveness of the other medicine.
Call your physician if you have or have ever had kidney disease or stomach
    conditions.
Call your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking calcium carbonate, Call
    your physician.

    Possible Adverse
    Effects:

Although adverse effects from calcium carbonate are not
common, they can occur. Call your physician if any of the following symptoms
    are severe or long lasting:

upset stomach
vomiting
stomach pain
belching
constipation

ATTENTION:
Estrogen may increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, breast cancer,
endometrial cancer, and blood clots in the lungs or legs. Call your
        physician if you smoke and if you have or have ever had a heart attack;
a stroke; blood clots; high blood pressure; high blood levels of
cholesterol or fats; or diabetes. If you are having surgery or will be
on bedrest, talk to Your Health provider about stopping estrogen at
least 4 to 6 weeks before the surgery or bedrest. If you experience any
of the following adverse effects, Call your physician immediately:
sudden, severe headache; sudden, severe vomiting; sudden partial or
        complete loss of vision; speech problems; dizziness or faintness;
        weakness or numbness of an arm or a leg; unusual vaginal bleeding;
crushing chest pain or chest heaviness; coughing up blood; sudden
shortness of breath; or calf pain. Talk to Your Health provider about
the risks and benefits of taking estrogen.

General Information and Indications:

Estrogen,Premarin, is a hormone, a
substance produced by the body. It is needed for normal growth and
development of female sex organs and for functions such as bearing children.
During menopause, the body's production of estrogen is decreased. Estrogen
replacement is used for symptoms associated with menopause: hot flashes
(feelings of warmth in the face, neck, and chest), sweating, sleep
disturbance, vaginal discomfort (dryness and itchiness), poor concentration,
and irritability. It also is used in the treatment of breast cancer in
postmenopausal women and breast and prostate cancer in men.

Estrogen is also used with diet, calcium supplements, and exercise to slow
the progression of osteoporosis, a disease common in women after menopause
resulting in bones that break easily.

Information For Users:

Estrogen comes as a tablet to take by mouth,
patches to apply externally to the skin, and as a cream to be inserted into
    the vagina.

Oral estrogen is usually taken by mouth with food or milk either every day
    or on a cyclical basis: once a day for 21 days and then none for 7 days;
then the cycle is repeated. However, for treating cancer it usually is taken
three times a day every day for at least 3 months.

Skin patches are usually applied either once or twice weekly for three weeks
    (on the same days each week), followed by 1 week without the drug (patch);
then the cycle is repeated. The package is designed to help you remember
when to apply fresh skin patches.

To apply a skin patch, follow the directions provided and these steps:

Remove the skin patch from its protective pouch and peel off the protective
    strip, exposing the adhesive surface.
Place the adhesive side against a clean, dry, and not excessively hairy area
of skin on the trunk of your body, preferably your abdomen (not your
waistline or breasts, since tight clothing may rub the patch). Do not apply
the patch to oily, broken, or irritated skin.
Press the patch on the selected site firmly with the palm of your hand for
about 10 seconds, making sure that the edges adhere to your skin. If the
patch accidentally comes off, you can either reapply it or apply a fresh
patch, but follow your regular dosing schedule.
Remove and discard the patch and apply a fresh patch according to the
schedule prescribed by Your Health provider. To prevent skin irritation, use
a different site for each application and wait at least 1 week before using
a particular area again. Used patches should be cut up and disposed in a way
that keeps them out of reach of children and pets.

To use the vaginal cream, Your Health provider will set up a dosage schedule
for you. If you are to use it once a day, it is best to use it at bedtime.
Follow the directions that come with the vaginal cream and these steps:

Fill the special applicator that comes with the cream to the level
    indicated.
Lie on your back with your knees drawn upward and spread apart.
Gently insert the applicator into the vagina; then push the plunger to
    release the medication.
Withdraw the applicator.
Discard the applicator if it is disposable. If the applicator is reusable,
pull it apart and clean it with soap and warm water after each use.
Wash your hands promptly.
Ask your pharmacist or physician any questions you have about using the
vaginal cream. You may wish to wear a sanitary napkin after inserting the
cream to keep your clothes clean.

Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask Your
physician or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take
estrogen exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more
often than prescribed by Your Health provider. Do not stop taking estrogen
    without talking to Your physician.

special precautions:

Call your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to
estrogen, aspirin, tartrazine (a yellow dye in some processed foods and
    drugs), or any other medications.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
medications you are taking, especially antibiotics or anti-infectives,
anticoagulants ('blood thinners') such as warfarin (Coumadin), carbamazepine
(Tegretol), phenobarbital, phenylbutazone, phenytoin (Dilantin), primidone (Mysoline),
rifampin, steroids (Decadron, Medrol, Prednisone), and vitamins.
Call your physician if you have or have ever had asthma; epilepsy
(seizures); migraine headaches; history of depression; liver, heart,
    gallbladder, or kidney disease; jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
genital bleeding; and excessive weight gain and fluid retention (bloating)
    during the menstrual cycle.
Call your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking estrogen, Call your
    physician immediately.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the physician or
dentist that you are taking estrogen.
Call your physician if you use tobacco products. Cigarette smoking may
decrease the effectiveness of this drug.
Call your physician or pharmacist if you wear contact lenses.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Follow all dietary and exercise recommendations, including those regarding
calcium supplements, if you are taking estrogen to treat osteoporosis.

Possible Adverse
    Effects:

Estrogen may cause adverse effects. Call your physician
if any of the following symptoms are severe or long lasting:

upset stomach
stomach cramps
bloating
diarrhea
appetite and weight changes
glucose intolerance (increased blood sugar)
brown or black skin patches
acne
swelling of the hands, feet, or lower legs (fluid retention)
increased blood pressure
bleeding or spotting between menstrual periods
changes in menstrual flow
painful or missed periods
breast tenderness, enlargement, or secretion
intolerance to contact lenses
Some adverse effects may be serious. The following symptoms are uncommon,
but if you experience any of the following symptoms Call your physician
    immediately:

severe stomach pain
yellowing of the skin or eyes
severe mental depression
unusual bleeding
loss of appetite

ATTENTION:
Studies have shown that children and teenagers who take antidepressants
(mood elevators) such as venlafaxine may be more likely to think about
harming or killing themselves or to plan or try to do so than children
who do not take antidepressants. Children younger than 18 years of age
should not normally take venlafaxine. If your child’s physician has
prescribed venlafaxine for your child, you should watch his or her
behavior very carefully, especially at the beginning of treatment and
any time his or her dose is increased or decreased. Your child may
develop serious symptoms very suddenly, so it is important to pay
attention to his or her behavior every day. Call your child’s physician
right away if he or she experiences any of these symptoms: new or
worsening depression; thinking about harming or killing him- or herself
        or planning or trying to do so; extreme worry; agitation; panic attacks;
        difficulty falling or staying asleep; irritability; aggressive behavior;
acting without thinking; severe restlessness; frenzied, abnormal
excitement; or any other sudden or unusual changes in behavior.

General Information and Indications:

Venlafaxine comes as a tablet or
extended-release capsule to take by mouth. The regular capsule is usually
taken two or three times a day and should be taken with food. The
extended-release capsule is usually taken once daily in the morning or
evening with food. Follow the directions on your prescription label
carefully, and ask Your physician or pharmacist to explain any part you do
not understand. Take venlafaxine exactly as directed. Do not take more or
less of it or take it more often than prescribed by Your Health provider.

Swallow the extended-release capsule whole; do not split, chew, crush, or
place it in water. If you cannot swallow the extended-release capsule, it
may be carefully opened and the entire contents of the capsule sprinkled on
a spoonful of applesauce. Swallow (without chewing) this mixture immediately
after preparation and then drink a glass of water to make sure all of the
    medicine is swallowed.

Continue to take venlafaxine even if you feel well. Do not stop taking
venlafaxine without talking to Your Health provider, especially if you have
taken large doses for a long time. Your Health provider probably will want
to decrease your dose gradually. This drug must be taken regularly for a few
weeks before its full effect is felt.

Information For Users:

Call your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to
    venlafaxine or any other drugs.
do not take venlafaxine if you are taking monoamine oxidase (MAO)
inhibitors, including isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil),
selegiline (Eldepryl), and tranylcypromine (Parnate), or have stopped taking
them within the past two weeks. If you stop taking venlafaxine, you should
wait at least a week before you start to take an MAO inhibitor.
Call your physician or pharmacist what other prescription and
nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal
products you are taking. Be sure to mention any of the following: amiodarone
    (Cordarone, Pacerone); antidepressants; chlorpheniramine (Chlor-Trimeton);
    cimetidine (Tagamet); clomipramine (Anafranil); haloperidol (Haldol);
imipramine (Tofranil); indinavir (Crixivan); lithium; medications for
anxiety, mental illness, or seizures; medications for migraine such as
frovatriptan (Frova), naratriptan (Amerge), rizatriptan (Maxalt),
    sumatriptan (Imitrex), and zolmitriptan (Zomig); methadone (Dolophine);
    quinidine (Quinaglute, Quinidex); risperidone (Risperdal); ritonavir (Norvir);
sedatives; selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as
citalopram (Celexa), fluoxetine (Prozac, Sarafem), fluvoxamine (Luvox),
paroxetine (Paxil), and sertraline (Zoloft);sleeping pills;and
    tranquilizers.

Call your physician if you or anyone in your family has or has ever had
depression, bipolar disorder (mood that changes from depressed to abnormally
excited), or mania (frenzied, abnormally excited mood), or if you or anyone
in your family has thought about or attempted suicide. Also Call your
physician if you have or have ever had difficulty urinating; elevated
intraocular pressure; or liver, kidney, or heart disease.
Call your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking venlafaxine, Call your
    physician immediately.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the physician or
dentist that you are taking venlafaxine.
you should know that this drug may make you drowsy. Do not drive a car or
operate machinery until you know how this drug affects you.
remember that alcohol can add to the drowsiness caused by this drug.you
should know that your mental health may change in unexpected ways,
especially at the beginning of your treatment and at any time your dose is
increased or decreased. These changes may occur at any time if you have
depression or other mental illness, whether or not you are taking
venlafaxine or any other medication. You, your family, or your caregiver
should Call your physician right away if you experience any of the following
symptoms: new or worsening depression; thinking about harming or killing
yourself, or planning or trying to do so; extreme worry; agitation; panic
attacks; difficulty falling or staying asleep; irritability; aggressive
behavior; acting without thinking; severe restlessness; and frenzied,
abnormal excitement. Be sure that your family or caregiver knows which
symptoms may be serious so they can call the physician when you are unable
to seek treatment on your own.

special precautions:

Call your physician or pharmacist if you are
allergic to latanoprost or any other drugs.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
medications you are taking, including vitamins.
Call your physician if you have inflammation of the eye, and if you have or
have ever had liver or kidney disease.
Call your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while using latanoprost, Call your
    physician.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or
dentist that you are using latanoprost.

Possible Adverse
    Effects:

Adverse effects from venlafaxine are common:

upset stomach
drowsiness
weakness or tiredness
excitement or anxiety
used to treat kidney disease caused by diabetes in patients with type 2
(formerly 'adult onset') diabetes and high blood pressure. Irbesartan is in
a class of medications called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works
by blocking the action of certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels,
    so blood flows more smoothly.

Information For Users:

Irbesartan comes as a tablet to take by mouth.
It is usually taken once a day with or without food. To help you remember to
take irbesartan, take it around the same time every day. Follow the
directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask Your physician or
pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take irbesartan
exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often
than prescribed by Your Health provider.

Your Health provider may start you on a low dose of irbesartan and gradually
    increase your dose.

Irbesartan controls high blood pressure but does not cure it. Continue to
take irbesartan even if you feel well. Do not stop taking irbesartan without
    talking to Your physician.

other uses:
Irbesartan is also used sometimes to treat heart failure. Talk to Your
Health provider about the possible risks of using this medication for your
    condition..

special precautions:

Call your physician or pharmacist if you are
allergic to irbesartan or any other medications.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are
taking. Be sure to mention any of the following: diuretics ('water pills'),
nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia), and tolbutamide (Orinase). Your Health
provider may need to change the doses of your medications or monitor you
    carefully for adverse effects.
Call your physician if you are on dialysis and if you have or have ever had
    heart failure or kidney disease.
Call your physician if you plan to become pregnant or are breast-feeding.

Possible Adverse
    Effects:

Irbesartan may cause adverse effects. Call your physician
if any of the following symptoms are severe or long lasting:

runny nose
sore throat
diarrhea
heartburn
excessive tiredness
Some adverse effects can be serious. The following symptoms are uncommon,
but if you experience any of them, Call your physician immediately:

swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or
    lower legs
hoarseness
difficulty breathing or swallowing
hives
fainting

ATTENTION:
Estrogen may increase the risk of heart attack, stroke, breast cancer,
endometrial cancer, and blood clots in the lungs or legs. Call your
        physician if you smoke and if you have or have ever had a heart attack;
a stroke; blood clots; high blood pressure; high blood levels of
cholesterol or fats; or diabetes. If you are having surgery or will be
on bedrest, talk to Your Health provider about stopping estrogen at
least 4 to 6 weeks before the surgery or bedrest. If you experience any
of the following adverse effects, Call your physician immediately:
sudden, severe headache; sudden, severe vomiting; sudden partial or
        complete loss of vision; speech problems; dizziness or faintness;
        weakness or numbness of an arm or a leg; unusual vaginal bleeding;
crushing chest pain or chest heaviness; coughing up blood; sudden
shortness of breath; or calf pain.

Estrogen comes as a tablet to take by mouth,
patches to apply externally to the skin, and as a cream to be inserted into
    the vagina.

Oral estrogen is usually taken by mouth with food or milk either every day
    or on a cyclical basis: once a day for 21 days and then none for 7 days;
then the cycle is repeated. However, for treating cancer it usually is taken
three times a day every day for at least 3 months.

Skin patches are usually applied either once or twice weekly for three weeks
    (on the same days each week), followed by 1 week without the drug (patch);
then the cycle is repeated.

(seizures); migraine headaches; history of depression; liver, heart,
    gallbladder, or kidney disease; jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
genital bleeding; and excessive weight gain and fluid retention (bloating)
    during the menstrual cycle.
Call your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking estrogen, Call your
    physician immediately.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the physician or
dentist that you are taking estrogen.
Call your physician if you use tobacco products. Cigarette smoking may
decrease the effectiveness of this drug.
Call your physician or pharmacist if you wear contact lenses.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Follow all dietary and exercise recommendations, including those regarding
calcium supplements, if you are taking estrogen to treat osteoporosis.

Possible Adverse
    Effects:

Estrogen may cause adverse effects. Call your physician
if any of the following symptoms are severe or long lasting:

upset stomach
stomach cramps
bloating
diarrhea
appetite and weight changes
glucose intolerance (increased blood sugar)
brown or black skin patches
acne
swelling of the hands, feet, or lower legs (fluid retention)
increased blood pressure
bleeding or spotting between menstrual periods
changes in menstrual flow
painful or missed periods
breast tenderness, enlargement, or secretion
intolerance to contact lenses
Some adverse effects may be serious. The following symptoms are uncommon,
but if you experience any of the following symptoms Call your physician
    immediately:

severe stomach pain
yellowing of the skin or eyes
severe mental depression
unusual bleeding
loss of appetite

    Ventolin

General Information and Indications:

Albuterol, Ventolin, is used to prevent
and treat wheezing, shortness of breath, and troubled breathing caused by
asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung diseases. Albuterol
inhalation also is used to prevent breathing difficulties (bronchospasm)
during exercise. Albuterol is in a class of medications called
beta-agonists. It works by relaxing and opening air passages in the lungs,
    making it easier to breathe.

Information For Users:

Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask Your
physician or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take
albuterol exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it
more often than prescribed by Your Health provider.

Swallow the extended-release tablets whole; do not split, chew, or crush
    them.

Albuterol controls symptoms of asthma and other lung diseases but does not
cure them. Do not stop taking albuterol without talking to Your physician.

Before you use the albuterol inhaler for the first time, read the written
instructions that come with it. Ask Your Health provider, pharmacist, or
respiratory therapist to show you how to use it. Practice using the inhaler
    while he or she watches.

If you have difficulty getting the medication into your lungs, a spacer (a
special device that attaches to the inhaler) may help; ask Your Health
provider, pharmacist, or respiratory therapist for more information.

If Your Health provider has told you to inhale 2 capsules, repeat steps 2-9.
other uses:
Inhaled albuterol also is used sometimes to treat or improve muscle
paralysis in patients with a condition that causes occasional paralysis and
to treat high potassium levels in patients with kidney failure. Talk to Your
Health provider about the possible risks of using this medication for your
    condition.

special precautions:

Call your physician or pharmacist if you are
allergic to albuterol or any other medications.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription medications, vitamins,
nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. Be sure to
mention any of the following: beta blockers such as atenolol (Tenormin),
labetalol (Normodyne), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), nadolol (Corgard),
and propranolol (Inderal); digoxin (Lanoxin); diuretics ('water pills'); and
other inhaled medications used to relax the air passages. Also Call your
physician or pharmacist if you are taking the following medications or who
have stopped taking them within the past two weeks: antidepressants such as
amitriptyline (Elavil), amoxapine (Asendin), clomipramine (Anafranil),
desipramine (Norpramin), doxepin (Adapin, Sinequan), imipramine (Tofranil),
nortriptyline (Aventyl, Pamelor), protriptyline (Vivactil), and trimipramine
(Surmontil); and monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors, including phenelzine (Nardil)
and tranylcypromine (Parnate). Your Health provider may need to change the
doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for adverse effects.
Call your physician or pharmacist what nonprescription medications you are
taking, including ephedrine, phenylephrine, phenylpropanolamine, and
pseudoephedrine. Many nonprescription products contain these medications
(e.g., diet pills and medications for colds and asthma), so check labels
carefully. Do not take any of these medications without talking to Your
Health provider (even if you never had a problem taking them before).
Call your physician if you have or have ever had an irregular heartbeat,
heart disease, high blood pressure, narrowing of the digestive tract (for
the extended-release product only), an overactive thyroid gland
    (hyperthyroidism), diabetes, or seizures.
Call your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking albuterol, Call your
    physician.

Possible Adverse
    Effects:

Albuterol may cause adverse effects. Call your physician
if any of the following symptoms are severe or long lasting:

tremor
nervousness
shakiness
dizziness
Xalatan

General Information and Indications:

Xalatan,Latanoprost, is a topical eye
medication used to reduce pressure inside the eye. It is used to treat eye
conditions, including glaucoma and ocular hypertension, in which increased
pressure can lead to a gradual loss of vision.

Information For Users:

Latanoprost,Xalatan, comes as eyedrops.
Usually, one drop is applied to the affected eye(s) once a day in the
evening. If latanoprost is used with other topical eye medications, allow at
least 5 minutes between each medication. Follow the directions on your
prescription label carefully, and ask Your physician or pharmacist to
explain any part you do not understand. Use latanoprost exactly as directed.
Do not use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by Your
    Health provider.

Latonoprost controls glaucoma but does not cure it. Continue to use
latanoprost even if you feel well. Do not stop using latanoprost without
    talking to Your physician.

To apply the eyedrops, follow these steps:

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
Use a mirror or have someone else put the drops in your eye.
Make sure the end of the dropper is not chipped or cracked.
Avoid touching the dropper against your eye or anything else.
Hold the dropper tip down at all times to prevent drops from flowing back
into the bottle and contaminating the remaining contents.
Lie down or tilt your head back.
Holding the bottle between your thumb and index finger, place the dropper as
near as possible to your eyelid without touching it.
Brace the remaining fingers of that hand against your cheek or nose.
With the index finger of your other hand, pull the lower lid of the eye down
    to form a pocket.
Drop the prescribed number of drops into the pocket made by the lower lid
and the eye. Placing the drops on the surface of the eyeball can cause
    stinging.
Close your eye and press lightly against the lower lid with your finger for
2-3 minutes to keep the medication in the eye. Do not blink.
Replace and tighten the cap right away. Do not wipe or rinse it off.
Wipe off any excess liquid from your cheek with a clean tissue. Wash your
    hands again.
If you still have symptoms of glaucoma (eye pain or blurred vision) after
using this medication for a couple of days, Call your physician.

special precautions:

    Effects:

Although adverse effects from latanoprost are
not common, they can occur. Call your physician if any of the following
symptoms are severe or long lasting:

stinging, burning, itching, watering, or swelling of the eye
redness of the eyelids
irritation
dry eyes
Latanoprost may increase the brown pigmentation in your iris, changing your
eye color to brown. The pigmentation changes may be more noticeable in
patients who already have some brown eye coloring. Latanoprost may also
cause your eyelashes to grow longer and thicker and darken in color. These
changes usually occurs slowly, but they may be permanent. If you use
latanoprost in only one eye, you should know that there may be a difference
between your eyes after taking latanoprost. Call your physician if you
    notice these changes.

ATTENTION:
Do not stop taking atenolol without talking to Your physician. Suddenly
stopping atenolol may cause chest pain, heart attack, or irregular
heartbeat. Your Health provider will probably decrease your dose
        gradually.

General Information and Indications:

Atenolol, Tenormin, is used alone or in
combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It also is
used to prevent angina (chest pain) and treat heart attacks. Atenolol is in
a class of medications called beta blockers. It works by slowing the heart
rate and relaxing the blood vessels so the heart does not have to pump as
    hard.

Information For Users:

Atenolol comes as a tablet to take by mouth. It
is usually taken once or twice a day. To help you remember to take atenolol,
take it around the same time every day. Follow the directions on your
prescription label carefully, and ask Your physician or pharmacist to
explain any part you do not understand. Take atenolol exactly as directed.
Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by Your
    Health provider.

Atenolol controls high blood pressure and angina but does not cure them. It
may take 1-2 weeks before you feel the full benefit of atenolol. Continue to
take atenolol even if you feel well. Do not stop taking atenolol without
    talking to Your physician.

Other uses for this medicine
Atenolol is also used sometimes to prevent migraine headaches and to treat
alcohol withdrawal, heart failure, and irregular heartbeat. Talk to Your
Health provider about the possible risks of using this medication for your
    condition.

special precautions:

Call your physician or pharmacist if you are
allergic to atenolol or any other medications.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are
taking. Be sure to mention any of the following: calcium channel blockers
such as diltiazem (Cardizem, Dilacor, Tiazac, others) and verapamil (Calan,
Isoptin, Verelan); clonidine (Catapres); nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory
medications (NSAIDs) such as indomethacin (Indocin); and reserpine (Serpalan,
Serpasil, Serpatabs). Your Health provider may need to change the doses of
your medications or monitor you carefully for adverse effects.
Call your physician if you have or have ever had asthma or other lung
disease; diabetes; severe allergies; an overactive thyroid gland
    (hyperthyroidism); pheochromocytoma; heart failure; a slow heart rate;
circulation problems; or heart or kidney disease.
Call your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking atenolol, Call your
    physician immediately.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the physician or
dentist that you are taking atenolol.
you should know that if you have allergic reactions to different substances,
your reactions may be worse while you are using atenolol, and your allergic
reactions may not respond to the usual doses of injectable epinephrine.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
If Your Health provider prescribes a low-salt or low-sodium diet, follow
    these directions carefully.

Possible Adverse
    Effects:

Atenolol may cause adverse effects. Call your physician
if any of the following symptoms are severe or long lasting:

dizziness
lightheadedness
tiredness
drowsiness
depression
upset stomach
diarrhea
Some adverse effects can be serious. The following symptoms are uncommon,
but if you experience any of them, Call your physician immediately:

shortness of breath
swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
unusual weight gain
fainting
Atenolol may cause other adverse effects. Call your physician if you have
any unusual problems while taking this medication.

General Information and Indications:

Temazepam,Restoril, is used on a
short-term basis to help you fall asleep and stay asleep through the night.

Information For Users:

Temazepam,Restoril, comes as a capsule to take by mouth
and may be taken with or without food. It usually is taken before bedtime
when needed. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and
ask Your physician or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.
    Take temazepam exactly as directed.

Temazepam can be habit-forming. Do not take a larger dose, take it more
often, or for a longer period than Your Health provider tells you to.
Tolerance may develop with long-term or excessive use, making the drug less
effective. Do not take temazepam for more than 5 weeks or stop taking this
medication without talking to Your physician. Stopping the drug suddenly can
cause withdrawal symptoms (anxiousness, sleeplessness, and irritability).
Your Health provider probably will decrease your dose gradually. You may
experience sleeping difficulties the first one or two nights after stopping
this medication. If your sleep problems continue, talk to Your Health
provider, who will determine whether this drug is right for you.

special precautions:

Call your physician or pharmacist if you are
allergic to temazepam, alprazolam (Xanax), chlordiazepoxide (Librium, Librax),
clonazepam (Klonopin), clorazepate (Tranxene), diazepam (Valium), estazolam
(ProSom), flurazepam (Dalmane), lorazepam (Ativan), oxazepam (Serax),
prazepam (Centrax), triazolam (Halcion), or any other drugs.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
    medications you are taking, especially antihistamines; cimetidine (Tagamet);
    digoxin (Lanoxin); disulfiram (Antabuse); isoniazid (INH, Laniazid, Nydrazid);
medications for depression, seizures, Parkinson's disease, pain, asthma,
    colds, or allergies; muscle relaxants; oral contraceptives; probenecid (Benemid);
    rifampin (Rifadin); sedatives; sleeping pills; theophylline (Theo-Dur);
tranquilizers; and vitamins. These medications may add to the drowsiness
    caused by temazepam.
Call your physician if you have or have ever had glaucoma; seizures; or
    lung, heart, or liver disease.
Call your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking temazepam, Call your
    physician immediately.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the physician or
dentist that you are taking temazepam.

Acetazolamide,Diamicron, is used to
treat glaucoma, a condition in which increased pressure in the eye can lead
to gradual loss of vision. Acetazolamide decreases the pressure in the eye.
Acetazolamide is also used to reduce the severity and duration of symptoms
(upset stomach, headache, shortness of breath, dizziness, drowsiness, and
fatigue) of altitude (mountain) sickness. Acetazolamide is used with other
medicines to reduce edema (excess water retention) and to help control
seizures in certain types of epilepsy.

Information For Users:

of it or take it more often than prescribed by Your Health provider.

If you are taking the extended-release (long-acting) form of acetazolamide (Diamox
Sequels), do not crush or chew the capsules.

special precautions:

Call your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to
acetazolamide, sulfa drugs, diuretics ('water pills'), or any other drugs.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
medications you are taking, especially amphetamines, aspirin, cyclosporine (Neoral,

you should know that this drug may make you drowsy. Do not drive a car or
operate machinery until you know how this drug affects you.
remember that alcohol can add to the drowsiness caused by this drug.
plan to avoid unnecessary or prolonged exposure to sunlight and to wear
protective clothing, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Acetazolamide may make your
    skin sensitive to sunlight.

General Information and Indications:

Amoxicillin, Amoxil, is used to treat certain
infections caused by bacteria, such as pneumonia; bronchitis; gonorrhea; and
infections of the ears, nose, throat, urinary tract, and skin. It is also
used in combination with other medications to eliminate

Information For Users:

Amoxicillin comes as a capsule, a tablet, a chewable
tablet, a suspension (liquid), and pediatric drops to take by mouth. It is
usually taken every 12 hours (twice a day) or every 8 hours (three times a
day) with or without food. To help you remember to take amoxicillin, take it
around the same time every day. Follow the directions on your prescription
label carefully, and ask Your physician or pharmacist to explain any part
you do not understand. Take amoxicillin exactly as directed. Do not take
more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by Your Health
    provider.

Shake the liquid and pediatric drops well before each use to mix the
medication evenly. Use the bottle dropper to measure the dose of pediatric
drops. The pediatric drops and liquid may be placed on a child's tongue or
added to formula, milk, fruit juice, water, ginger ale, or other cold liquid
    and taken immediately.

The chewable tablets should be crushed or chewed thoroughly before they are
swallowed. The tablets and capsules should be swallowed whole and taken with
    a full glass of water.

Take amoxicillin until you finish the prescription, even if you feel better.
Stopping amoxicillin too soon may cause bacteria to become resistant to
    antibiotics.

other uses:
Amoxicillin also is used sometimes to prevent anthrax infection after
exposure and to treat anthrax infection of the skin and chlamydia infections
during pregnancy. Talk with Your Health provider about the possible risks of
using this medication for your condition.

special precautions:

Call your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to
amoxicillin, penicillin, cephalosporins, or any other medications.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are
taking. Be sure to mention any of the following: chloramphenicol (Chlormycetin),
other antibiotics, and probenecid (Benemid). Your Health provider may need
to change the doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for adverse
    effects.
Call your physician if you have or have ever had kidney disease, allergies,
asthma, hay fever, hives, or phenylketonuria.
Call your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking amoxicillin, Call your
    physician.

Possible Adverse
    Effects:

Amoxicillin may cause adverse effects. Call your
physician if any of the following symptoms are severe or long lasting:

upset stomach
vomiting
diarrhea
Some adverse effects can be serious. The following symptoms are uncommon,
but if you experience any of them, Call your physician immediately:

severe skin rash
hives
Do not take lisinopril if you are pregnant. If you become pregnant while
taking lisinopril, Call your physician immediately. Lisinopril may harm
        the fetus.

General Information and Indications:

Lisinopril,Zestril, is used alone or in
combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It is used
in combination with other medications to treat heart failure. Lisinopril is
also used to improve survival after a heart attack. Lisinopril is in a class
of medications called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It
works by decreasing certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so
blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.

Information For Users:

Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by Your
    Health provider.

Your Health provider will probably start you on a low dose of lisinopril and
    gradually increase your dose.

Lisinopril controls high blood pressure and heart failure but does not cure
them. Continue to take lisinopril even if you feel well. Do not stop taking

    any other medications.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription

difficulty swallowing or breathing and painful swelling of the the face,
throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs.
Call your physician if you plan to become pregnant or are breast-feeding.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the physician or
dentist that you are taking lisinopril.
you should know that diarrhea, vomiting, not drinking enough fluids, and
sweating a lot can cause a drop in blood pressure, which may cause
    lightheadedness and fainting.

Possible Adverse
    Effects:

Lisinopril may cause adverse effects. Call your physician
if any of the following symptoms are severe or long lasting:

cough
dizziness
headache
excessive tiredness
upset stomach
diarrhea
weakness
sneezing
runny nose
decrease in sexual ability
rash
but if you experience any of them, Call your physician immediately:

swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or
    lower legs
hoarseness
difficulty breathing or swallowing
fever, sore throat, chills, and other signs of infection
yellowing of the skin or eyes
lightheadedness
fainting

ATTENTION:
If you are switching (or have recently switched) from an oral
corticosteroid such as budesonide, betamethasone, dexamethasone,
methylprednisolone, prednisolone, or prednisone to budesonide inhalation
and suffer an injury, infection, or a severe asthma attack, take a full
dose of the oral corticosteroid (even if you have been gradually
decreasing the dose) and Call your physician for more directions.Always
carry an identification card that says you may need supplementary doses
of an oral corticosteroid during periods of stress (injuries,
infections, and severe asthma attacks). Ask your pharmacist or physician
how to get this card. List your name, medical problems, drugs and
dosages, and physician's name and telephone number on the card. Include
the name of the oral corticosteroid and the full dose you took before
        decreasing it.

General Information and Indications:

Budesonide, Pulmicort, is used to
prevent wheezing, shortness of breath, and troubled breathing caused by
severe asthma and other lung diseases. It belongs to a class of drugs called
    corticosteroids.

Information For Users:

Budesonide comes as a powder to inhale by
mouth. Budesonide is usually inhaled once or twice a day. Follow the
directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask Your physician or
pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Use budesonide exactly
as directed. Do not use more or less of it or use it more often than
    prescribed by Your Health provider.

Budesonide controls symptoms of asthma and other lung diseases but does not
cure them. Improvement in your asthma may occur as soon as 24 hours after
taking the medication, but full effects may not be seen for 1 to 2 weeks
after taking it regularly. Continue to use budesonide even if you feel well.
Do not stop using budesonide without talking to Your physician. Call your
physician if your symptoms do not improve during the first 2 weeks or if
    they get worse.

Do not use budesonide for rapid relief of asthma attacks. If you do not have
another inhaler for prompt relief of breathing difficulties, ask Your Health
provider to prescribe one. If Your Health provider has prescribed a
bronchodilator (a drug to be inhaled for rapid relief of difficult breathing
such as albuterol [Proventil, Ventolin]), use it several minutes before you
use your budesonide. This helps the budesonide get into the deeper parts of
your lungs. Call your physician immediately if your asthma is not responding
    to usual treatment.

Before you use budesonide the first time, read the written directions that
come with it. Ask Your Health provider, pharmacist, or respiratory therapist
to show you the right way to use the inhaler. Practice using the inhaler in
front of him or her, so you are sure you are doing it the right way.

To use the inhaler, follow these steps:

Turn the protective cover and lift it off.
The first time you use a new budesonide inhaler you must prime it. To do
this, hold the inhaler upright (with mouthpiece up), then twist the brown
grip fully to the right as far as it will go, then back again fully to the
left. You will hear a click. Repeat. The unit is now primed and ready to
load the first dose. You do not have to prime the inhaler again after this,
even if you do not use it for a long time.
Holding the inhaler upright, load the first dose by turning the grip fully
to the right and fully to the left until it clicks.
Turn your head away from the inhaler and breathe out. Do not blow or exhale
into the inhaler. Do not shake the inhaler after loading it.
Hold the inhaler in the upright (mouthpiece up) or horizontal position.
Place the mouthpiece between your lips well into your mouth, past your front
teeth. Tilt your head slightly back. Close your lips tightly around the
mouthpiece and inhale deeply and forcefully. Be sure that the mist goes into
your throat and is not blocked by your teeth or tongue. Adults giving the
treatment to young children may hold the child's nose closed to be sure that
the medication goes into the child's throat.
Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for about 10
seconds. Do not exhale through the inhaler.
If you take 2 puffs (inhalations), wait 2 minutes before taking the second
    puff.
For the next puff and all other puffs, you do not have to prime the inhaler.
However, it must be loaded in the upright position right before its use.
Turn the grip fully to the right and then fully to the left until it clicks.
Replace the protective cap on the inhaler. After each treatment, rinse your
mouth with water, but do not swallow the water.
Keep the inhaler clean and dry at all times. Do not bite or chew the
mouthpiece. Do not use Pulmicort Turbuhaler with a spacer.

special precautions:

Call your physician or pharmacist if you are allergic to
    budesonide or any other drugs.
Call your physician or pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription
    medications you are taking, especially arthritis medications; aspirin;
cimetidine (Tagamet); digoxin (Lanoxin); diuretics ('water pills'); estrogen
(Premarin); ketoconazole (Nizoral); oral contraceptives (birth control
    pills); oral corticosteroids; phenobarbital (Donnatal, others); phenytoin (Dilantin);
rifampin (Rifadin); theophylline (Theo-Dur); and vitamins or herbal
    products.
if you have a fungal infection (other than on your skin), or any other type
of infection, do not use budesonide without talking to Your physician.
Call your physician if you have or have ever had diabetes; thyroid problems;
high blood pressure; mental illness; myasthenia gravis; osteoporosis; herpes
eye infection; seizures; tuberculosis; ulcers; or liver, kidney, intestinal,
    or heart disease.
Call your physician if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are
breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while using budesonide, Call your
    physician.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the physician or
    dentist that you aretaking budesonide.
avoid exposure to chicken pox and measles. If you are exposed to them while
using budesonide, Call your physician. Do not have a vaccination or other
immunization unless directed to by Your Health provider.

Possible Adverse
    Effects:

Although adverse effects from budesonide are not common,
they can occur. Call your physician if any of the following symptoms are
    severe or long lasting:

dry or irritated mouth or throat
cough
difficult or painful speech
dizziness
difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
neck pain
stomach pain
If you experience any of the following symptoms, Call your physician
    immediately:

vision problems
white spots or sores in your mouth
swollen face, lower legs, or ankles
cold or infection that lasts a long time
muscle weakness
increased difficulty in breathing
skin rash
unusual bleeding or bruising
fever
sore throat
pain during urination
muscle aches
If you have been switched from oral corticosteroids to budesonide and are
slowly tapering off your dose of the oral medication and you experience any
of the following symptoms, Call your physician immediately:

joint or muscle pain
increased difficulty in breathing
tiredness
is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood
pressure and chest pain (angina). Amlodipine is in a class of medications
called calcium channel blockers. It lowers blood pressure by relaxing the
blood vessels so the heart does not have to pump as hard. It controls chest
pain by increasing the supply of blood to the heart. If taken regularly,
amlodipine controls chest pain, but it does not stop chest pain once it
starts. Your doctor may prescribe a different medication to take when you
    have chest pain

Merck & Co., Inc.
announced a voluntary withdrawal of rofecoxib (Vioxx) from the U.S. and
worldwide market due to safety concerns of an increased risk of
cardiovascular events (including heart attack and stroke) in patients on
    rofecoxib.

VIOXX,Rofecoxib,
is used to relieve the pain, tenderness, inflammation (swelling), and
stiffness caused by arthritis and to treat painful menstrual periods and
pain from other causes. Rofecoxib is in a class of nonsteroidal
anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) called COX-2 inhibitors. It works by
stopping the body's production of a substance that causes pain and
inflammation. COX-2 inhibitors may cause less stomach bleeding and ulcers
    than similar medications.

    Zoloft

Indications:

Studies have shown that
children and teenagers who take antidepressants ('mood elevators') such as
sertraline may be more likely to think about harming or killing themselves
or to plan or try to do so than children who do not take antidepressants. If
your child’s doctor has prescribed sertraline for your child, you should
watch his or her behavior very carefully, especially at the beginning of
treatment and any time his or her dose is increased or decreased.

Zoloft,Sertraline, is used to treat depression,
obsessive-compulsive disorder (bothersome thoughts that won't go away and
the need to perform certain actions over and over), panic attacks (sudden,
unexpected attacks of extreme fear and worry about these attacks),
posttraumatic stress disorder (disturbing psychological symptoms that
develop after a frightening experience), and social anxiety disorder
(extreme fear of interacting with others or performing in front of others
that interferes with normal life). It is also used to relieve the symptoms
of premenstrual dysphoric disorder, including mood swings, irritability,
bloating, and breast tenderness. Sertraline is in a class of medications
called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It works by
increasing the amounts of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain that
    helps maintain mental balance.

Usage:

Sertraline comes as a tablet and
a concentrate (liquid) to take by mouth. It is usually taken once daily in
the morning or evening. To treat premenstrual dysphoric disorder, sertraline
is taken once a day, either every day of the month or on certain days of the
month. To help you remember to take sertraline, take it around the same time
every day. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and
ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.
Take sertraline exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take
it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Sertraline concentrate must be
diluted before use. Immediately before taking it, use the provided dropper
to remove the amount of concentrate your doctor has directed you to take.
Mix the concentrate with 4 ounces (1/2 cup) of water, ginger ale, lemon or
lime soda, lemonade, or orange juice. Do not mix the concentrate with any
liquids other than the ones listed. Drink immediately.

special precautions:

tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to
sertraline or any other medications. Before taking sertraline liquid
concentrate, tell your doctor if you are allergic to latex.

do not take sertraline if you are taking monoamine
oxidase (MAO) inhibitors, including phenelzine (Nardil) and
tranylcypromine (Parnate), or have stopped taking them within the past two
weeks, or if you are taking pimozide (Orap).

do not take disulfiram (Antabuse) while taking
      sertraline concentrate.

tell your doctor and pharmacist what other prescription
and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and
herbal products you are taking. Be sure to mention any of the following:
      anticoagulants ('blood thinners') such as warfarin (Coumadin);
antidepressants (mood elevators) such as amitriptyline (Elavil), amoxapine
(Asendin), clomipramine (Anafranil), desipramine (Norpramin), doxepin (Adapin,
Sinequan), imipramine (Tofranil), nortriptyline (Aventyl, Pamelor),
protriptyline (Vivactil), and trimipramine (Surmontil); aspirin and other
nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen
      (Advil, Motrin) and naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn); cimetidine (Tagamet);
      diazepam (Valium); digoxin (Lanoxin); lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid);
medications for anxiety, mental illness, Parkinson's disease, and
seizures; medications for irregular heartbeat such as flecainide (Tambocor)
and propafenone (Rythmol); oral medications for diabetes such as
      tolbutamide (Orinase); sedatives; sleeping pills; sumatriptan (Imitrex);
and tranquilizers. Your doctor may need to change the doses of your
medications or monitor you carefully for side effects.

tell your doctor if you or anyone in your family has or
has ever had depression, bipolar disorder (mood that changes from
depressed to abnormally excited), or mania (frenzied, abnormally excited
mood), or if you or anyone in your family has thought about or attempted
suicide. Also tell your doctor if you have recently had a heart attack and
if you have or have ever had seizuresor liver or heart disease.

tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become
pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking
      sertraline, call your doctor.

you should know that sertraline may make you drowsy. Do
not drive a car or operate machinery until you know how this medication
      affects you.

ask your doctor about the safe use of alcoholic
beverages while you are taking sertraline.

you should know that your mental health may change in
unexpected ways, especially at the beginning of your treatment and at any
time your dose is increased or decreased. These changes may occur at any
time if you have depression or other mental illness, whether or not you
are taking sertraline or any other medication. You, your family, or your
caregiver should call your doctor right away if you experience any of the
following symptoms: new or worsening depression; thinking about harming or
      killing yourself or planning or trying to do so; extreme worry; agitation;
      panic attacks; difficulty falling or staying asleep; irritability;
aggressive behavior; acting without thinking; severe restlessness; and
frenzied abnormal excitement. Be sure that your family or caregiver knows
which symptoms may be serious so they can call the doctor when you are
unable to seek treatment on your own.

side effects:

Sertraline, Zoloft, may cause
side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not
    go away:

upset stomach

diarrhea

constipation

vomiting

dry mouth

loss of appetite

weight changes

drowsiness

dizziness

excessive tiredness

headache
